Wunder Guide: Family Holiday Fun
BY SHIRLEY ERSKINE-SCHREYER
With Christmas seemingly almost cancelled and the festive Christmas Markets facing closures that have not happened since WWII. I set out to find out if there are some holiday activities that families can still enjoy while minimizing the risk of COVID. Here are a few ideas that I discovered.
Christmas Markets
Keep the festive cheer alive and visit the handful of Christmas Markets that will be open this holiday season. Here are my top five!
Christmas Market at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church
Dicke Linda Christmas Market in Neukölln
Märchenhafter Weihnachtsmarkt at the Jagdschloss Grunewald
Skating Party
While gathering in groups indoors is a challenge meeting with another family is still possible. Enjoy a skating party at your local ice rink. Don’t forget the hot coco with marshmallows! Here are a few local spots in Berlin.
Outdoor Social Distance Fun
Embracing alfresco activities is the best way to enjoy meeting friends and family this holiday season. Why not invest in an outdoor fire pit? Enjoy roasting chestnuts and marshmallows while sipping on warm mulled wine all cosy in front of the fire.

Important Note:
Don’t forget to check for current regulations prior to visiting markets and other facilities, as most require pre booking spots.
